• Brasileiros não estarão inclusos no eTA e não serão isentos de visto;
• Cidadãos brasileiros de dupla nacionalidade, em que a segunda nacionalidade seja isenta de visto, deverá optar em apresentar o passaporte brasileiro com visto canadense ou apresentar o passaporte do país isento com a autorização eTA;
• Passageiros que forem impedidos de embarcar por não possuirem visto e solicitarem emergência no VAC serão tratados como caso regular;

"‘ As you may be aware, there is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt travellers entering Canada by air. Beginning 15 March 2016, all visa-exempt travellers must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) prior to entering Canada.

The eTA will be required for all travellers who are travelling using valid passports issued by a visa-exempt country. Travellers who are citizens of countries that currently require a visa must still apply for a visa in order to enter Canada. The entry requirements for citizens of Brazil have not been changed. Brazilian citizens may not enter Canada without a valid visa. All travellers can quickly and easily find out if they need a visa or an eTA to enter Canada on our website.

Citizens of Brazil who are travelling on a visa-exempt passport (such as dual nationals of Portugal or other visa-exempt countries) must apply for an eTA in order to enter Canada as of 15 March 2016. Dual citizens of Brazil who also hold a visa-exempt passport but will be travelling on their Brazilian passports must apply for a visa in order to enter Canada.

While the eTA requirement may be expanded in the future, at present citizens of Brazil must hold a valid Canadian visa if they are travelling to Canada on their Brazilian passports. There are no exceptions to this requirement. Citizens of Brazil must hold a valid Canadian visa in order to enter Canada.

It is possible that travellers using Brazilian passports may attempt to board flights to Canada without a TRV on or after 15 March 2016. If these individuals apply for a temporary resident visa through the Visa Application Centres after having been denied boarding, the applications are to be treated as regular, non-priority cases. Only family/medical emergency cases and business visitors are to be referred for priority processing. Applications will not be given priority processing as a result of travel date or flight reservation. We encourage all applicants to apply for their TRV as far in advance as possible. We will advise you if there is a change to the policy on priority referrals in the future.

Sincerely,
Vice Consul | Vice-consule
